Radboud University (RU) is in the top one percent of universities in the world. According to the Dutch university information guide Keuzegids Universiteiten 2020, Radboud University is the best traditional, general university in the Netherlands. RU offers 55 Bachelor’s programmes, 14 of which are taught in English, and almost 60 Master’s programmes. In the ARWU ranking 2020, it is ranked 105 in the world, and in the Times THE 2021, position 136. Radboud University belongs to The Guild network and is leader of the European University of Brain and Technology NeurotechEU. The grant will be hosted by the Faculty of Science, one of the seven university faculties. It runs seven Master’s programmes, all taught in English. There are about 3,500 undergraduate and graduate students, 620 scientific staff and 300 supporting staff at the Faculty. In 2019, the Faculty of Science produced more than 1,550 scientific publications and graduated more than 100 PhD students. The master’s in computing science at the Faculty of Science has specialisations in Data Science, Software Science, Cyber Security, Mathematical Foundations, and AI and Cyber Security. RU has a large team of recruiters and communication officers working with a huge range of tools, online and physical. Every Faculty has its own recruiters’ team, in the Faculty of Science 10 people are working to improve the number of science students. They organise physical and virtual Open Days several times a year, have webinars, Q&A chat sessions with candidates, and experience days on demand. Next to this, RU works with agents, the personnel of our Embassies and partner universities. They will also visit several physical fairs per year in our target countries.

C.I.P. Citizens in Power is an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization from Cyprus, which addresses the needs and demands of people through their involvement in social and civic life. The organization has built its expertise by providing countless educational material and free trainings related to a variety of fields, such as technology and innovation, (online) education, inclusion, business and entrepreneurship, culture, arts, labor. Its primary goal is to foster the development of both formal and non-formal education, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning in Cyprus and abroad, with the help of its ever-expanding network of collaborators (leading European universities, schools, NGOs, research centers, professional trainers, and education experts both in Cyprus and Europe).

The Grammar School was founded in 1963. Our School provides challenging and diverse learning opportunities to the students. It promotes creativity, independent thinking and empowers students to become capable, caring, and active contributors to the world in which they live. The English National Curriculum and the Cypriot Ministry Greek Curriculum provide the platform for learning. Students with specific learning needs are catered for through more support, where appropriate. The school is an all-inclusive school that consists of Primary School which accommodates 272 students of ages 5-11 and the High School which accommodates 824 students of ages 11-18. Our Vision is to make up an educational community of students, parents, and staff where learning happens at its best. We strive to be at the forefront of education using innovative technologies and teaching methods to enable our students to unlock their potential and achieve personal, social, cultural, and academic growth.

The American Farm School (AFS) is based on the educational farm in Thermi, Thessaloniki. It serves society by providing formal education, technical and vocational training, information and consultancy, new product development, business support, innovation facilitation. Especially in the agri-food sector it offers education and training to students and farmers, acting as a facilitator of digital agriculture innovation and applications. The new “Vasilios S. and Aphrodite V. Haseotes” Gymnasium, the PANTELIADIS High School and Vocational High School operate within the educational farm. Each of the above three educational units serves 200 students. Four science labs and two STEM Maker spaces ensure students have plenty of hands-on learning opportunities. Advanced educational technology facilitates design thinking and equips all students to master the digital tools to create and transmit knowledge. Its mission is to create a community of learners working together in a safe and challenging environment that fosters enthusiasm and responsibility, independence and participation resulting in lifelong learning and personal growth. AFS combines long-term experience in education and training of the agri-food sector, transferring knowledge and expertise to young scientists and farmers, with the valuable experience of an innovative farmer. Transnational activities and outreach opportunities fall under the purview of the Innovation and Impact HUB, which focuses on achieving long-term institutional outcomes through opportunity identification, selection and design and implementation of major projects. The Office ensures that the objectives of the selected projects are aligned with the strategic mission and goals of the institution and that their implementation is effectively undertaken.

INFALIA PC (https://infalia.com) is a SME that was established in January 2014 and its primary objective is to transform research findings into fully functional, customised, innovative and highly professional market solutions. The company is dedicated to providing state-of-the-art information and communication technology solutions in the fields of smart cities & eGovernment, data science & social media analytics, cyber-security & incident detection, educational technologies & eLearning, e-Accessibility & digital transformation, visual analytics, interactive visualisations and immersive Environments, and virtual and augmented reality. INFALIA is a spin-off company of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH). Its core team comprises experienced researchers, with a strong ICT background. Their expertise is the result of participating in various European and national research projects that combine research and corporate demands to develop original, robust, and cutting-edge business solutions for the market. INFALIA was selected as Subgrantee (1.11.2019 – 31.10.2023) by the SHAPES Project evaluation team following the SHAPES Open Call for its MYONABLER@VR, a Virtual Reality (VR) application that provides patients the opportunity to perform gait retraining exercises (Exergames) at home and keep up with their intervention program with low-cost equipment. INFALIA has branded and strongly supports Improve my city (IMC) platform, a direct citizen-government communication and collaboration commercial platform that offers reporting, administration, and analytics services to local authorities in Europe and Africa. The management and routing of incoming issues is performed through a back-end infrastructure that serves as an integrated management system with accessible interfaces promoting a rich user experience. The active IMC users are more than 40.000 and the number of issues submitted and managed by the platform has already exceeded 250K. INFALIA also offers an open-source version of the tool to the community.

Universidad Rey Juan Carlos (URJC) is a young public university with several campuses in the greater Madrid area, whose mission is to foster innovative research and high-quality education in one of Spain’s fastest-growing regions. URJC has managed to grow up to almost 45.000 students and nearly 2.600 lecturers, being currently the second largest among the six public Universities in Madrid in terms of students. URJC has a strong international projection, with an academic community comprising 3.300 foreigners from 60 countries. URJC has established an European Projects Office (EPO) to strengthen the participation in international research activities. EPO collaborates in two main ways: on one hand attending and handling both administrative and financial issues from the different projects and actions, and on the other hand assisting the researchers and the projects/actions individually by providing support in different tasks regarding Technology Transfer, IP management and support, Open Access, Technology Watch and so on. The EPO has a staff with a technical and financial background, and skills to develop the above described activities. Additionally, the EPO has a delegation located in the Office of the Madrid Region in Brussels whose primary mission is to serve as liaison and interface, between researchers and the European institutions.

Pieter Zandt Scholengemeenschap (PZ) is a secondary school that provides education of every available level to children in the ages from 12 to 14 years old (and up to 18 years old for some types of education). The PZ aims to provide relevant education to prepare pupils to be well-prepared and responsible citizens for the society of the future. This encompasses education in using and understanding technology that has become ubiquitous in the recent years. The Dutch government also requires to teach in so-called media literacy, which underlines the importance of the attention that these topics receive. Additionally, measures are taken to counter the European trend of a declining interest in STEM sciences, which is also present in our learners population. Examples of these measures are theme weeks in which pupils engage in practical technical challenges, coupled to present-day societal issues. Another example is the introduction of tech labs that are used to enthuse pupils both from within our school and from primary education. The school in its entirety includes a staff of around 300 teachers (paid staff) and 3000 pupils. These are divided in 12 teams that work on 4 locations. The main location is situated in the city of Kampen.
